Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. She was born on the 25th of December in 1954, at Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name used by her parents. Lennox was a student for three year at the Royal Academy of Music London in 1970s, was accepted. She was able to survive by surviving on a student stipend, as she worked part-time. Lennox was of the opinion that her talents were inferior to those of the Royal Academy classmates. So she began thinking about other options she could pursue. Lennox was a flute player in the band Dragons Playground in 1976. She left the band before the band was invited to compete on I.T.V.'s talent contest New Faces. From 1977 to 1980 she served as the main vocalist of The Tourists, a British Pop band. In this band, she met Dave Stewart who would later join Eurythmics. Then, Lennox began to work on her solo first album Diva that was released in 1992. The album garnered a lot of praise, both by critics as well as the general public. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album was released in October 2014. The C.D. Lennox picked her favorite blues and soul tracks. Additionally, in May 2019, Lennox published Lepidoptera a collection of four improvised piano tracks. The E.P. Her first album"Now I Letting You Go... is an accompaniment to her installation of work in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The group went on during the 80s, to be the cult duo Eurythmics. Lennox launched her solo career with her first album Diva in 1992. This was the source of several hit songs, including Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa the album from 1995 studio features cover versions of the songs No MoreI Love Yous as well as A Whiter Shade of Pale. Six solo studio albums, plus one compilation album, are to her credit. |
